Since Anthony Davis went down with an injured achilles tendon in a Lakers loss to the Denver Nuggets. Including that game the Lakers are just 1-4 after an overtime loss to a struggling Washington Wizards team. Only If this were just a few years ago and the Lakers were in this same situation I would bet everything I own that Lebron James could have at least led the Lakers to a winning record over a 5 game span. The Reason I am talking about the Lakers here is because without Anthony Davis the Lakers don't have a second goto guy. If you look at the NBA Teams with a winning record except for 3 teams all of the rest of the teams have at least 2 guys that can consistently get you a bucket. The 3 teams that are sort of outlaws are

• Portland Trailblazers

• San Antonio Spurs

• Golden State Warriors

Starting with the Portland Trailblazers After a strong start to the season Jusuf Nurkic and C.J. Mccullom got injured Since then Damien Lillard possibly the most clutch player in NBA has been Awesome averaging 30 points a game 4 rebounds 8 Assists and a steal a game and Absolutely dominating Teams.

The San Antonio Spurs are not the most flashy team by far and kind of a surprise to be the six seed in the western conference as of tuesday morning on february 23rd. I have come up with three reasons why this quiet team is doing so well without a great second option.

1. Demar Derozen has really taken a step up this season in consistency averaging 20 points 5 rebounds 7 assists and is shooting nearly 50 percent from behind the three point line 2. A Lot of the role players on the spurs have been doing well, for example dejounte Murray who is averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds or Keldon Johnson who is averaging 14.5 points and 7 rebounds 3. The biggest reason these young role players are flourishing is because they are playing under one if not the best organization of all time with great management all the way through too the greatest NBA coach of all time in Gregg Popovich.

Finally the Golden State Warriors who have surprised most people and are currently the 8 seed in the western conference. They would usually have an awesome second option in Klay Thompson but before the season got Injured. They currently don't have a second guy who you would consider a goto player but they have many pieces other than Stephen Curry who right now is having one of the best seasons of his career. They have turned around Andrew Wiggins' career into a guy who is currently shooting 47% from the field and 37% from behind the three point line. They also have Kelly Oubre who is averaging 15 points a game and of course flourishing rookie James Wiseman. But the most important thing in my mind is their chemistry and that is mostly because of Draymond Green who has taken a step down in scoring but has definitely taken a step up in leadership.

And that is why you need to have at least two players who can get you a bucket, and that is why the three outlaws to that rule are still above 500.
